What this register is
This is the paid part of the publication, and it is deliberately not for patients. It lists services bought by practitioners and by people already in a dispute: professional indemnity brokers, medico legal solicitors, and training providers.
It exists on its own page. It is not linked from any verification procedure, it does not appear in any article, and no entry can ever be mentioned in editorial content. If a company here became the subject of an article, the entry would be removed and the relationship disclosed.
What this register is not
- It is not a list of clinics, and no provider of aesthetic treatment can buy an entry.
- It is not a recommendation. An entry means the stated facts were checked, and nothing else.
- It is not a ranking. Entries are alphabetical, always.
- It is not editorial. It is labelled paid at the top of the page and next to every entry.
Why it is empty
Because no application has completed verification. Entries are sold only on identifiers we can check on a public register, and until an application has been checked, nothing appears.
We could fill it. Every directory in this sector launches full, and nobody asks how. We would rather publish an empty register and explain why than publish a full one and hope nobody looks. The criteria and rate card are published in full so that the emptiness can be measured against a real standard.
The disclosed facts an entry is sold on
- Indemnity brokers and insurers. Firm name, Financial Services Register firm reference number, and permissions, checked on the Financial Services Register.
- Medico legal solicitors. Firm name and SRA number, or the equivalent regulator and number in Scotland or Northern Ireland, checked on the regulator's own register.
- Training providers. Company name and number on Companies House, and where a regulated qualification is offered, the qualification number on the Ofqual register of regulated qualifications or the equivalent for the relevant nation.
Every entry displays those identifiers so that a reader can check them independently. That is the whole point: even the paid page is verifiable at source.
